The allure of paranormal investigation lies in the thrill of the unknown, the anticipation of experiencing something beyond the ordinary. Each investigation adds a piece to the puzzle, and my recent visit to the Annison Funeral Parlour was no different. This historic site in Hull, reputed for its dark history and spectral phenomena, provided me and the team with a fascinating array of experiences that we're slowly piecing together.
As I arrived at the venue, I felt an unease - I felt that there was one spirit, a body, deceased and drowned, almost dry but wondering the halls dripping water - in fact I asked one of the staff members who said they did find unexplained water...
Goosebumps
A particularly intense experience occurred when I entered one of the rooms. Almost immediately, I felt a chill sweep over me, manifesting as Goosebumps on my arms, neck, and even my face. It was as if the very air in the room had changed. Alongside this, in this room, an overwhelming wave of nausea hit me, making me feel incredibly ill. This sensation was so intense that I felt I may had to leave the room. What struck me most was how quickly these symptoms abated once I stepped out, almost as if the room itself was the source of the discomfort. This physical reaction added a new dimension to my experiences of investigations, highlighting the potentially oppressive nature of the energies present in certain areas.
Stairwell
Another intriguing moment happened at the top of the stairwell. As I passed by the top of the stairwell, I could have sworn that our team was right behind me and some coming up the stairs. The sound of footsteps, the subtle shift in air—it all felt like absolutely like someone was coming up. The lady behind me and I both stopped, expecting to see our colleagues, however, when we turned around, the stairwell was empty. This eerie silence and the sudden realisation that no one was there left us both surprised and a bit unnerved. Interestingly, this exact scenario had been reported by another team member in a past investigation, suggesting a pattern of activity in that area.
Touched
One of the most striking and perhaps the most compelling experience for me happened occurred in the stables during a group séance. As the session progressed, I was busy filming, trying to capture any unusual occurrences. At one point, I felt a distinct pat on my shoulder. It was gentle, almost as if someone was trying to guide me forward so they could pass. Initially, I thought it was the lady next to me, perhaps signalling me to move or make way. However, when I looked, she was neither close to me nor had she moved. I also realised I was not near the wall, ruling out any possibility of accidental contact. I was trying to identify what this could have been, what else was it... who was it...? All these questions led me to one conclusion - one startling conclusion—I had been touched for the first time by a ghost.
As our team then left to investigate another area, we distinctly heard the sound of stable doors creaking open. This wasn't just a faint noise, we all heard it as it was clear, loud and deliberate, as though someone or something was making its presence known, were these the ghosts of the horses who once were billeted here? The fact that these noises were reported by other team members during previous investigations adds a layer of credibility to our findings. It's these recurring phenomena that strengthen our belief in the site's paranormal activity.
Piece by Piece, Bit by Bit
These experiences, while subtle, are significant pieces in the puzzle we're trying to solve. Each noise, touch, and unexplained event adds to the narrative of the Annison Funeral Parlour. While sceptics might dismiss these occurrences as mere coincidences or tricks of the mind, the consistency and intensity of these experiences suggest otherwise.
As paranormal investigators, we understand that not every visit will yield ground-breaking evidence. However, it's the accumulation of these small, consistent findings that build a compelling case for the paranormal. Our journey at the Annison Funeral Parlour is far from over. There's still much to uncover, and each visit brings us closer to understanding the mysteries of this haunted site.
Closing Position
This investigation was another step forward in my and our joint quest to uncover a truth. The experiences we had, especially the physical contact during the séance and the overwhelming sensations in the room, reinforce my belief in the paranormal activity at Annison. As a team we remain dedicated to piecing together the evidence, bit by bit, and look forward to what our next visit might reveal. Stay tuned as we continue our exploration into the future and into the unknown.
